The following is an interview I agreed to do for the local newspaper before leaving town. The interview was done
hastily a few days before I left and has a couple minor errors but the overall positive tone reflects the affirmative
response I had from the community.
Many Transsexuals have been hounded by the media, particularly transsexual police officers. That was not the case
in Rock Springs, Wyoming. They had requested an interview a year earlier but stated they would not print anything
without my permission. As a courtesy I consented to an interview prior to moving.
I would have agreed to an interview at an earlier date however we were concerned, at that time, about potential
problems our children might encounter as a result of going public. In retrospect we now know there would not have
been a problem.
